Here's a list that I keep updated as I publish machines for sale.
I often have a lot of machines here that just need work. If you're looking for a specific machine, please contact me and I'll see if I have it here. I usually have a wait list for specific machines.
Unfortunately, no. The sewing machine repair I do is kind of a side-gig. I have an actual job (unrelated to sewing machines), and I have young children to keep an eye on. A physical location dedicated to this business is just not in the stars right now... but maybe someday!
Yes! Visit the tab on this website that says "SHOP" and it will take you over to Etsy, where I sell all my parts.
If you need something specific that you can't seem to find, shoot me an email and I'll see if I have it for you.
An important question!
It really depends on the work you need done, please contact me directly with your pricing questions. I am fair and honest, and I'm always willing to work with people.
This is an incredibly common question, many people contact me to help with their machines.
Please understand that my time is precious to me. I have a lot going on, and for me to stop and answer questions for you can be time-consuming and laborious.
I try to help as best as I can when I can, but sometimes, it's just not possible. You can, however, message me and see if I have a moment for your question.
If I am able to help you, please consider buying me a coffee to keep me going!
A good rule of thumb for "vintage" is 25 years old, but frankly, that's not sufficient. I work on mechanical sewing machines that generally have metal "guts."
Generally, if it's from the early 1970s or older, I will work on it. If it has a computer on board, or plastic gears, I usually don't work on them. Simple issues are fine (tension, etc), but if you have a cracked or destroyed gear, timing issues, or anything serious, I can't help you. It will be more expensive and time-consuming than makes sense.
The machines around this era started to lose quality in production, and replacement parts are even less quality now than they were then.
I do work on treadle machines, and antique machines. I do not work on chain stitch or industrial machines.
This is a tough one. The straight answer is whatever your market is willing to give for it. Chances are not much.
I know they're beautiful, I know they may be sentimental, and that you may think they're worth a whole lot! They sure do look like it, right? But the truth of the matter is that there were a lot of sewing machines made, and almost every home had one at one point. They made things for form and function back in the day, so don't let its beauty fool you. They're very capable machines.
If it's a family heirloom, you may find more value in keeping it and handing it down than selling it for a few bucks to someone who may not love it like your family did. Heck, you can even have me get it running again!
Oh, and in case it needs to be said: I do not offer appraisals of sewing machines.
No, not at this time.
While I do have experience doing this, I do not offer it to the general public. I don't offer it to friends or family either, it's super labor-intensive!
No.
If you decide to take your machine apart, take lots of pictures of the process.
No.
There are a lot of smaller groups in the homes of locals and halls of churches (not necessarily affiliated with religion, the space is usually generous and affordable).
Ask you local church or community center if they have any knowledge of local groups, or shoot me an email. I know of a few groups that are teaching, but they don't advertise.
As of November 2024, I am teaching grade 4-6 how to sew in a local private school. This may or may not become something I offer to others... depends on how well things go!
No, I do not offer any sewing services at this time.
