Whether it's your great grandmother's treadle, your mother's cast iron Singer, or something that you picked up for the occasional hem, I can help with issues you may have with your home machine.
Working on machines with metal bits instead of modern plastic machines, I'm able to help with many problems, including motors and electrical problems.
I accept donations of sewing machines!
Machines are offered to local schools who don't have budgets for home economics anymore, local folks (particularly youth) that have an interest in sewing but just can't afford a functioning machine, and others who don't have access to sewing supplies.
I also give many donated machines away locally. Feel free to shoot me an email to get added to the freebie list (available only to western MA locals unless you're willing to travel, I don't ship free machines for obvious reasons).
If you'd like to re-home a sewing machine, functioning or not, I can fix it and help to find it a new home.
There's a group of local enthusiasts to western Massachusetts that get together once a month in Monson, MA and Northampton, MA to chat about vintage sewing machines, share their projects, and troubleshoot with one another.
Please check our Events page for when the next meetings will take place.
